Dorms

Can anyone give me the 411 on Rawlings Hall? As an alum, I'm trying to help a young Gator friend pick out a dorm, but just don't know much about Rawlings. I always thought it was exactly like Broward and Jennings in terms of friendliness, people, and class rank (all freshman), yet I'm finding that the majority of freshmen pick Broward and ( Read more... )

I lived in Rawlings my freshman year and I loved it. I think the location is better than Broward, and definitely better than Jennings, and there is a major bus stop just out front. There were mostly freshman girls on my floor and they were all really nice and we had a lot of fun living there, I am still really close friends with a couple of them. I would for sure tell your friend not to overlook it. Hope that helps!

I also lived in Rawlings my freshman year. It's nicer than Broward (which has shitty carpet), and it's in a better location than both Broward and Jennings (especially Jennings). I never lived in Broward, but my sister's ex-boyfriend did, and apparently there was a significant amount of drugs/alcohol there. It's also less stairs to walk up on an average day (I'm pretty sure Broward is taller than Rawlings, not sure about Jennings). As for Jennings, the rooms are nicer than Broward (bad lighting/too dark, and again, shitty carpet), and basically the same as the ( ... )

Thanks for the comments, keep them coming!

I too stayed in Broward and thought, quality-wise, it wasn't the best. Social-wise, it was pretty good (but crazy - I agree with you Annon).

But I guess I was wondering why so many freshmen chose Jennings and Broward over Rawlings, when all three were practically the same. Is there a stigma against Rawlings?
