How do I hide part of my entry behind a link? What is a lj-cut?
A
allows you to hide all or part of your entry behind a link. The part you
shows up only when readers click on the link. This can add a certain style to your entry, and it also prevents it from taking up tons of space on your friends' journal pages when they are trying to read.
There are two ways to create a lj-cut:
- Rich Text editor: Press the button (
). A grey box will appear. Type your extra long entry in that box. Anything you feel like the world needs to see, type outside of the grey box.
- Plain Text editor: Type . Of course, "read more" is the title of the link, replace it with whatever you want. When you are done and you want the world to see your text again, type after the text you want to cut.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a lj-cut. Now isn't that nifty?
