Giles. Take a deep breath. You're twenty-two and you already wrote a fucking musical. Or two, isn't it now? You do not have to work a shitty job. I'm in New York right now and I can tell you that here, at least, there are a billion opportunities for work in theatre. You've got talent, and you're also one ambitious motherfucker which is going to serve you well. Don't be afraid. It'll all turn out fine.
ps and if you don't want to get married, you don't have to. there's no rule out there that says that you have to get married in order to be happy. but i think you will. you'll be fine.
Aw Giles, I'm sorry your 22nd birthday seems to have sucked...um...I can identify though, at least a little bit...I've been feeling pretty terrified myself lately. Growing up is hard! And it's really scary! Remember when we were young and innocent? And now I realize I have to actually be able to fend for myself, and right now I'm headed for a career in a pretty unstable, unpredictable, extremely competitive and extremely difficult field so yeah am I terrified out of my mind??? YES. It's pretty fucking scary...but I dunno...maybe we need to be a little bit terrified? Not that you have anything to be worried about. You will be fine! Actually you'll be better than fine, especially since career-wise you already seem to have yourself on a very impressive track. Just keep working hard and remember that even though your pretty damn scared, you're doing what you love. You're lucky! Not everyone gets to have a career in what they love doing. In fact, at this stage I think it's safe to say that a lot of people still don't know
