I want to work in an orpanage next summer. I am not exactly where. I heard of Invisible Children for the first time today. If you have contacts in Uganda, that'd would be awesome! I would love to even talk to a person that has been there and can share about a little that has to do with the ministries there.
In Christ,
Sheila

If you're more into playing with older children, Jireh Children's Center in Masaka is a good place to go visit. There's less long term missionaries there, you'd be a little more on your own, though a lot of short term teams come from all over there. Its a little more "rustic" (no electricity or running water at the children's center) but the kids are amazing, and really enjoy having visitors come to stay with them :) They also have a second location in Kybazala (not sure if I spelled that right) which is more remote and even more rustic, but I've heard those kids are super-amazing too. There its more fellowshipping, being an advocate for the kids needs, playing with them, ( ... )

I just got back from a month at Jireh. It was incredible and wonderful, and I truly hope you go there. my e-mail is sgray@austincollege.edu if you want to talk about Jireh and the things that are happening there, because it is wonderful. the older children especially really enjoy attention and having someone to love them.
Kyabazaala is cool too, but I don't know if they would have a place for you to stay, but it might be something you could go to on a weekend or something.
how long are you intending to stay?
