I didn't know toe walking was a sensory issue... my nephew who will be 6 still walks on his tippy toes! His parents don't seem to care though... And Yoga will get better! I hated it at first and thought it was SO HARD, but as you get in better shape, it gets easier. I love it now :-)
As for the invite question - call them and tell them that you would love to have them with you on your special day, but that since it is getting closer to the date, you thought a personal inviation over the phone was best. If they'd like detailed information in an email, send it :-)
I agree with this suggestion -- especially if the friends were already aware that they probably wouldn't get invited due to size of the family. It also saves you an invitation/envelopes/postage/etc. if you call a friend who says, "Oh, I wish I could, but I have something else going on that day." If they do want to come, though, I'd still send an actual invitation in the mail, even if it's in a plain envelope -- at least, if you know the friend is a person who would appreciate the creativity of the invitation, or someone who's sentimental enough to want to hang on to the invitation.
