I'm in Thailand, and all is well. I went to the beach and felt ocean water for the very first time in my life. Saw some lady boys that were prettier than me. Petted a two inch long mystery bug.

Oh yeah, I'm not here for vacation. Gotta start studying... tomorrow.

I have to admit I was surprised it was your first time feeling ocean water. There's really nothing like it, and of course hopefully now you'll have much more opportunity to enjoy that sort of thing. That and the enormous insects.

I've seen the ocean before, both from LA and from Japan, but never actually got close. It's pretty amazing, and I collected so many sea shells and saw a dead jellyfish! They are surprisingly un-jelly-like.

Since my apartment building is right on the beach, I have no excuse not to go more often!

On the beach?! Lucky! You must have great self-discipline not to want to go out there all the time, I know I would!

And, haha, I certainly didn't mean to rudely imply you'd never seen a large body of water in your life or didn't know what the sea was! But definitely now you have the perfect excuse. :)
