I went kayaking Saturday.
It was great. I went upstream at high tide. I saw a falcon/hawk, several swallowtails, a crane, and hear an owl hooting. My arms handled the trip fairly well. I'm getting better at paddling the kayak. There's a rythm to it where you don't push too hard, you just sort of pull with nearly the same velocity the boat is going. It's hard to verbalize. I still find I have to stop and rest my arms alot though. I stayed out on the water for an hour and a half this time.
Calculus II class started today. There are only six of us. The course will be cancelled if the other two people who signed up don't show by in the next couple days.
I'm still working everyday at the learning disablities department. They held a conference last Friday, which was the main reason to get me to start working so soon. It was okay. Not as many people showed up as I expected, but this was the first time they held it. I introduced a couple people to the wonders of text reading and dictation software.
My new laptop is working great for me. I can dictate notes to it without trouble. I also used it to type in notes in Calculus today (with the aid of Scientific Notebook--a math text software). This afternoon at the library, I did my Calculus homework in it. By by paper and pencil! I can actually read my notes for once! lol. I forgot to mention I used it to give the software demonstrations last Friday for the Learning Disablities Conference.
