The Price of Freedom

Through my studies in Political Science, it had become abundantly clear to me that democracy simply is not the best form of government. The problem exists in that people have no idea what is best for them, therefore, how is it that ordinary, ignorant, irresponsible citizens should be entrusted with the responsibility of making responsible ( Read more... )

you basically just took all credibility out of everything you said because of all of the grammatical errors in that post. God help us all if you become dictator

Irony is this: your comment lacks a capitalized first letter, a period at the end of the second sentence, and has a misused preposition (of). My use of grammar is a "higher" use of grammar. I learned it from elves. Did you learn your grammar from elves? I think not.

Maybe it's the effect of the Liberal Arts College I now attend, but I think our political views have grown apart since the last time we were in Dr. Klug's class...
Love always,

Yeah Brainwashing is common these days. If you vote for anyone but Bush, I will kidnap your family and burn your house to the ground though.

It's really too bad that our government is a lying sack of shit. I really couldn't be more turned off by the half truths and veiled meanings. The cowardly, high browed leaders of this country are the scum of the earth. I don't care if the people don't know what is best for them, who are they (the government) to decide that they are more intelligent than us, feeding us lies and bullshit that we want to hear, that they may come to power and decide what is right for us, rather than representing themselves truly. I haven't even yet mentioned the fact that everything is a compromise in an elaborate dance of power. I remember a country in my lifetime where I could say "fuck this government" and have no fear of retribution, I no longer have that security. We are currently under dictatory rule, and should the opposing party come to power, we will become a communist regime. Well, that seems like a good slue of choices. Except for the good part ( ... )

disclaimer: I have ever in the past proclaimed "fuck this government." I still believe this country is the greatest in the world, even if she has been sold out and her principles raped by those in power.

SO you think Bush has done good enough of a job that you'd be willing to vote for him? I mean looking at most of the democratic candidates I can understand your sentiment however with the Bush administration there has been so much overlooked and so many Americans left behind and forgotten I am worried about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer which makes the economy look like it's doing fine while the poverty rate is rising. That is one of many issues but you have a point... democracy as we know it has issues!

First off, if you have read any of my previous entries, you know I hate when people post anonymously, and second of all, all this crap about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer is garbage. It's propaganda meant to stimulate weaker minded americans into believing that poverty in America is really all that bad. While I don't think children should go hungry, look at foreign countries where famine is a real problem, like in Ethiopia, or Somalia, where famine killed 300,000 people. Look at COMMUNIST, Stalinist Russia where famine is responsible for 20 MILLION DEATHS, not including those unaccounted for. No American truly knows what poverty is, and half of those who think they do are on welfare, taking money from hardworking Americans, because they themselves don't want to find work or do work that is "Below" them, like flipping burgers. Money is money, and the Constitution never promises happiness (which originally guaranteed the right to wealth before it was changed to hapiness because welath sounded bad), it only ( ... )
