Last night I had a most disappointing call back. Not because I didn’t do a good job. I was fine at what I was asked to do. It was what I wasn’t asked to do. I had written on my audition form last Sunday four characters that I’d be interested in playing. On Sunday I had read and sang for one of those characters and afterwards the music director told

I also do not understand the reasoning behind the casting crew's decision. As I said the other night, the teenage and early twentysomethings have high school and college theater options; I always thought that community theater was supposed to be mostly for post-college people who DON'T have any other theater options. So to give all the roles to high school and college students just defeats the purpose of the event.

Sadly, going on the whole story, I think that cellphone guy just isn't interested, though I don't really understand it. Maybe he's gay? Which would make MUCH more sense all around.

I guess we are both wrong on the thought that people OTHER than college and high school kids should perform in community theater shows. I kind of got the feeling that I used to get in Syracuse - that I wasn't "young/hot" enough to even be considered. That probably isn't the case, but that is what I thought.

In regards to the cell phone guy. I'm totally not interested. I would have appreciated some kind of acknowledgment other than a low hand gesture.
