Would everyone support making the day of the national election a federal holiday? Its only once every four years and hopefully it would help increase voter turn out.

Columbus Day

As an employee of the State of Idaho, I get Columbus Day as a paid vacation holiday. I would much rather prefer Election Day - however, I also get Veterans Day as a paid holiday, which would be 3 paid days off in the month of November (Election Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving Day)

Its only once every 4 years.

And I also have no problem with canceling columbus day to give way for a holiday during the year of a national election on nov.4.
