Bring us your tired, your poor, your half-finished 'Lost' fics...

On a personal note, do any of my fellow flisties suffer with IBS?  I don't like to talk about it, but I am having a severe weeklong flare-up and I can't seem to stop it no matter what I do.  Pain has been so intense it's unreal.  But Obligatory Bright Side - I have a new appreciation for women who manage to survive labor (at least they go home with ( Read more... )

*smushes you*

I've got a boatload of unfinished Lost fic too (who among us does not?). I would probably play along ~

Sorry about the IBS. I know a couple of people who have that, but they don't seem to have any secrets. Hope it gets better for you soon, darlin'.

yeah, i usually average about one 2-3 day flare-up a month (usually right around the period!), but this one just came out of nowhere and i can't shake it. someone recommended peppermint oil supplements, i may check those out.

i'd love to read some jen-fic - let's do it! :-)

The only half-finished Lost fic I have is in my head and it's extremely dirty!* ;)

Oh, that and the fic I'm writing for Z.

But I would be extremely interested in reading whatever you post!

*[May or may not be a lie.]

I have thought about doing a fic dump too. I've got a LOT of unfinished Lost fic. I'll do it if other people do it.

I think we should pick a day and have it be a fandom-wide thing, what do you think?

that would be good. maybe we should do two days, one pre- and one post-finale, as several people have mentioned that they are waiting for the finale before deciding to finish/abandon their WIPs.

perhaps via lostsquee?

Are you seeing a nutritionist? I have ibs-like issues. What's really helped for me is taking these digestive enzymes with each meal. And taking probiotics each day. My niece has really bad IBS and has greatly benefited from acupuncture and some herbal stuff from her acupuncturist. A nutritionist can maybe sort out if you've got food intolerances, that kind of thing. But the digestive enzymes help a lot! They're not cheap.

Here's the brand I'm taking:
Designs for health "digestzymes" dietery supplement. Good luck!

And awww, the Jack/Sawyer interaction was much missed! I have a ton of half-finished JS fics. And some new plot bunnies I haven't had time to write. But I'm sure we'll see a lot more after this week .. and after all the dust from the finale dies down.

Oh, and to settle a hurty tummy, I recommend mint tea and anything ginger: ginger tea, ginger ale, etc. Yogi Tea makes a great stomach soothing tea.

i have thought about seeing a nutritionist or naturopath, but after being out of work this long, that's unfortunately not a possibility at the moment. i do take probiotics daily but i'll look into enzymes as well - maybe that's something i'm missing. thanks!

i would love to read your done/half-done fics. you raise a good question though - maybe people are waiting for the finale to finish their fics. i had initially thought it would be fun to do a finale countdown, but maybe a post-finale blowout would be more appropriate.

what do you think?

i live on diet coke. if it turns out i can't drink that, i may just drop dead from despair!

you bring up the same point halfdutch does about waiting until after the finale to finish fics. maybe a countdown to finale/post-finale blowout combo would be more appropriate!
