So I got The Sims 3 the other day...

Technically my aunt bought it, but she gave it to me when my family and I was visiting her in the suburbs of bum the fuck nowhere, Tennessee over the weekend.  Her house was a wreck but that's nothing new. ...She also wanted me to stay there and find a job but  there was an experience involving staying there and being dropped off on a street and ( Read more... )

yyeeeeeessss... having never played TS3, that was the sort of impression I got of it. Parts of it look quite cool but ALL THIS PUDDING and I love my TS2 pixels and even though Io makes TS3 look nice that would NEVER HAPPEN for me no matter how hard I might try. I've got TSM which is quite fun for a while, but I feel like there's no continuity and you can only play one character at a time and my sims are... well, they're not hideous and they're playable but I can't make one I'll swoon over every time I load the game. I know they're different games but graphically they seem to be pretty much similar? And with TSM I definitely get the console game feel. The sims don't seem to have any personality. How does TS3 work with multiple sims? Or have you not played it that way yet?

ALSO ILU UJI.

what is my brain today I cannot string together coherent sentences pie... I'm just distraught my pheasant died, okay!?

HELLO ILU2
I haven't tried with more than one sim. I almost got this one hipster I made to move in with the Goths but they would have to move into his house instead of him into their great big house. tbh, the animations may be smoother, but the pudding, man. the pudding I can't even eat actual pudding after playing TS3. I think that EA was trying to make the faces more life-like but in the process they made all of the faces so blehs;kljlksjfdsbluuuurp

also nooo your pheasant >:

You can't take TS3 seriously, at least I can't. I've tried playing it twice and mostly I just use it as a goof off. They were way off the mark when they did this one. I can't even like any of the expansions or stuff packs. I think the only one that gave me a good giggle was generations. It's so sad considering that TS1 was great and TS2 was good. TS3 just bombed, imo. It lags, neighborhoods become unplayable after a certain size, bleh.. and the list goes on and on for TS3 fatal flaws.

I'll take pixels over puddings any day.

Yeah I totally agree with that. I gave it another shot but the sim I made got stuck and since I was using testingcheatsenabled, his needs never went down so he would have been trapped like that forever. And I always keep trying to de-pudding the pudding when I make a sim with it, but I can't. I spent two hours monkeying with that guy's face before I gave up.

I know this is going to sound horribly shallow but I can't play a game with such ugly faces DX I think that the way the sims were designed landed right in the middle of good ol' uncanny valley and EA doesn't even seem to give a single fuck that those things are creepy looking.

ALSO IN THE SAME VEIN.
I follow simsgonewrong on tumblr and I'm really not sure if the massive number of submissions from TS3 is because more TS3 players follow the blog or if TS3 is just more buggy. It looks that way to me, though. There are a lot of pictures where the skeleton get completely stretched out of proportion and weird things like that. Yeah, TS2 is buggy sometimes but not to that extent. Again, I don't know if it's just because more TS3 players follow the blog. The few TS2 bugs which are posted up don't look too horrific compared with the rest.
