I put Abbie in her own room when she was about 10/11 weeks, she was already sleeping through and in a good sleeping routine and I found that we disturbed her but us being in the room when we went to bed late etc.

So off she went into her own room, he sleeping routine has been great ever since, she goes to bed between 7 and 7.30pm and sleeps til 6.30 - 7am. She'll also quite happily go to bed awake and amuse herself til she falls asleep, she never did that in our room.

Do what feels right, only you know what is best for yours :)

We put Daisy in her own room at around 12 weeks I think. It was a couple of weeks after she started sleeping right through the night.
Her room is right next to ours, and we used the baby monitors (at 15 months, we still do). I guess we probably would have left it longer had she not been moving so close.

You'll know when it's the right time for you both. But be warned, the first night is a NIGHTMARE! Not for babes, but for mummy. I was up at least a dozen times, lol.

Oh no. I would wake up through the night and freak out that I couldn't hear her breathing, although before she could roll over I kept the monitor in her cot, right by her head so I could hear her.
But then, she did have some problems breathing after birth so that's probably just my fear.

heylo :p

Esmé is 5 days short of 6 months and still sleeps in our room. She does sleep through the night from about 7-7 and she isn't disturbed when we come to bed. We will move her out eventually but at the moment it's nice just having her around where we can check on her easily. Also now she's started rolling on to her stomach in her sleep and then crying cos she gets stuck it is a lot easier being in the same room to just turn her over

Well our daughter was 17 months when she went into her own room ;) I used to feel soooo weird when I went to my NCT group and everyone was talking about their babies sleeping in the nursery from birth, or at the very most about 3 months old. I have no regrets now though, and she moved into her own room very easily despite her age.
I don't really have any thoughts on it.. had she been an 'easy' baby who was happy to sleep in her cot, and slept for longer stretches from an early age, we would almost certainly have moved her out of our room between 6-12 months. As it was she hated her cot so we ended up co-sleeping (full time til 9 months, then part time til 16 months). She only started sleeping through regularly when we night weaned her at 16 months! So the thought of trying to get her used to sleeping in her own room, and in her own bed, and not waking up every few hrs for a feed was just too exhausting to contemplate.
