I don't really have much to add, except I think you could be right about him being overtired. My son was ready for his bed at about 6.30pm at that age!

I would try bringing bedtime forward a bit. I know Phoenix behaves that way when he's over tired.
Good luck :)

Does sound like overtiredness. Esmé tends to be in bed by 7:30 at the latest, usually 7. Try bringing the start of bedtime routine forward by half an hour or so and see if that makes a difference.

Good luck :-) x

My little girl did this, and it was horrible! She suddenly hated bath time, and screamed the house down. We worked out she was overtired and too stressed to take her final feed, thus meaning we had a generally disrupted night.

Even now, if she doesn't get enough sleep during the day, she doesn't sleep well at night, which sounds illogical but is perfectly normal, apparently! So, I'd agree with the others and suggest bringing bed time forward, and perhaps putting him down for one last 25 minute sleep if you can't bring bedtime forward. Mostly it doesn't stop them sleeping at night, so it shouldn't cause too many problems.

Hope you get the situation remedied, it's draining when they are unhappy!

Thanks for the advice...

It didn't think about tiredness when until I was typing this out, probably just because I was so frazzled at the time!

He's in bed by 6.30 now and we're all having an easier time!
