best site for advice is www.thenappylady.com you can fill in a questionaire and a personal advisor will contact you back with the right information for your circumstances. It's very good.

Also for buying nappies, have a look on ebay or various parenting forums for second hand ones cos it is a lot of money to spend in one go if you aren't too sure about them.

You could try contacting your local county council cos sometimes they have insentive schemes etc

Have also just found some cloth nappy groups etc.... i think I'm going to be busy reading for quite some time!

Can't imagine our county counil giving a monkeys, but it's certainly worth a try.

Thanks again :-)

P.S. - what's hth mean???? :-/

We used cloth on our son (now almost 5).  Got us some medium Bummis super whisper wraps and some plain chinese pre-folds.  In normal person terms, that would be a waterproof thing that goes outside the big puffy squares (pretty sure not muslin!) that got folded into shape before putting in the wrap.  They grew with him really really well.  We also got some all-in-ones (wrap and soft cotton insides all stitched together)..Bumkins I think.  Those were for when we were going out and would leave hiim with a sitter, since they are just like putting on a disposable.

We found the wraps and pre-folds were easy to wash and dry, most economical, and are now ready to go for the next bubs due in December.  I've lent them out to someone who will be getting them back to me in the summer, since we're going with disposables (Moltex Oko) for the first month while we try to remember how to deal with a newborn, and they'll probably be too big for the new bubs.

For some reason I have absorbed nappy information like a sponge, and have used many of the nappies that exist at one point or another, I therefore consider myself to be a strange font of nappy-knowledge (sad, really ( ... )

Real nappies are a mine field and it can get very confusing. I use a mixture of nappiesand have liked different ones at differnt stages of my sons development. I now use a selection of - fuzzi bunz, cushies and litttle lambs.
I think everyone has a different favourite and if you have a friend that uses real nappies ask to borrow a few different kinds.

good luck :)

I have just moved from smalls to mediums, so have some nappies to sell CLICK THIS LINK.

I highly recommend both Tots Bots and Fuzzi Bunz. Tots Bots are a fitted terry nappy that you put a waterproof cover over, and Fuzzi Bunz are a pocket nappy, which has waterproof material on the outside and fleece on the inside, and you stuff the space between the outer and the inner with whatever you need depending on absorbancy - I always used microterry inserts because they were the best compromise of trimness and absorbency.

Hope that helps!
