Secondly sorry - to disagree with the masses - but he's right - you are pregnant not ill. Women taking time off due to pregnancy - and i dont mean official time off for appointments etc I mean "sick days" - costs most business a lot of money every year.
the second comment although phrased in a VERY dumb way is also fairly accurate, the majority of miscarriages or early pregnancy losses, occur before 12weeks gestation.
I'd think very carefully about a complaint if I were you. You might find it does you more harm than good. Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy.
I was upset by the first comment as I resent the insinuation that I'm going to use my pregnancy as an opportunity to milk it for everything I can.
The second comment upset me as I had only received official confirmation that day (and was still in my little happy cloud) and the last thing anyone wants to hear when they are at this point is anyone making comments about miscarriage. My sister had one, and comments like that don't help, as I am already aware of the possibilities.
I just feel he could have kept his comments to himself and let me have my little moment of happiness (I haven't had that many in my life, so this is pretty monumental to me.)
well yes but being told you're 'pregnant, not ill' is no consolation when you've not kept down food or water for a week or so. Sure, if she's going to act like a delicate flower who can't be bothered to do anything that's one thing. Pregnancy CAN have serious complications, illnesses and side effects, all without decent medication in case of hurting the baby, and his comment was unprofessional and probably illegal. Not to mention insensitive and cock-like.

Make sure they do a risk assessment now, and 4 weekly therein. And don't do anything that strains you.
Also, I *think* that night work may be something you don't have to do unless you want to.
