What is it that you don't like about the Bay Area?

My first two months here were spent in an uncomfortable but very expensive room in a long-stay hostel in (a foggy, cold) SF in a neighborhood that had homeless people / drug addicts sleeping on all the street corners. I felt unsafe on a daily basis and was paying through the nose for that pleasure. Me and SF got off on the wrong foot. I quickly realized that to live in comfort in SF, you need to make a certain salary that is unattainable in my situation ( ... )

I'm not really surprised by what you said - from what my friends in the area say SF is even crazier than London in terms of cost of living, and I heard horror stories of the commute to work...I hope you get a bit more settled!

Thank you and happy new year to you! x Hopefully once I get that car I'm longing for, I'll have the opportunity to really explore and enjoy this area. I am sure it is wonderful but I just haven't had the chance yet to make the most of it.
