Politics (yeah, I know, I never used to care...)

So I was canvassing the other day (yes, ladies and gentlemen, I actually care enough about this election to participate...and watch poll results and listen with bated breath to *gasp* political news and talk radio). The canvassing wasn't hard-core like it apparently had been last week--in fact, it felt a lot more like social research than a canvas

At least you have something to say other than, "He's so charismatic!" :) It is a very admirable soapbox, although I suspect they are all playing games- which is my soapbox. Still, thanks for the informed opinion; it may make a difference as to what I put on my own ballot this fall. <3

I guess I'm of the opinion that they all have to play the game, and will have some crazies in the wings or the crowd, and will all make mistakes.

But I do have to say that while I've only heard small bits here and there, I have been impressed by the thought that has gone into some of those speeches.

As the Daily Show said a few weeks ago, "At 11:00 on a Tuesday, a prominent politician spoke to Americans about race, as though they were adults."

Which matters.

Yeah, I know--politics is a game even when people don't want to play it, but that someone would question the game is refreshing.

I respect the Clinton supporters--I certainly think she's qualified and has her assets. But I can't, as a recent college graduate with much debt, no health insurance, and a rising cost of living, jump on her business-almost-as-usual bandwagon. Anywho, I hope it's clear that I really don't care who other people choose to vote for provided they have a reason that isn't a single personal descriptor...
