Scalpel!

Today I had surgery. I was a one-hour local anesthesia-only procedure to remove the lump under my arm. I do not like needles, so I was squirmy about being stuck in the armpit, but I was okay in the end. I talked to the doctor while he picked at fibres and sliced and sewed. He says the lump was a lipoma - a fatty growth, kind of a benign tumor. It's ( Read more... )

You're lucky the lipoma was in your armpit. My brother had one on his forehead!

Mmmm.... chocolate croissants. Oh, and the Killers album is really good, even if cheezy. Revel in the cheeziness!

Ugh...forehead. Did he have it removed through surgery? That doesn't sound fun.

Yeah, I'm rather enjoying the album now. As I think you know, my mom watches The O.C., and a while back they had The Killers on there, as themselves playing in a club. Now when I hear this song and "Smile Like You Mean It" I think of Seth Cohen arguing with what's her name. Oh well, not really.

Holy Jesus, Beijing! Stuttering staplers, Batman--Beijing!

Do you like Madlib and MF Doom (and the rest of the Stone's Throw family--Quasimoto, Madvillain...)?

Beijing! I haven't been there since I was ten, so I am very excited to see how the city has changed. Maybe not quite so much as Shanghai, but I've heard it's crazy. The trip is with the company, partly for training and partly to hang out together and...you know, build team spirit or something. Luckily, I get along with everyone as it is. It's going to be fun!

I do like Stone's Throw, though I have only recently gotten into them...am still figuring out what's what. Any particular reccomendations? Though of course I know about Madvillain...

I'm still figuring out what's what, too...and spring break is perfect for prolonged record store browsing!!

Of course you know about Madvillain, so here are some other names that I'm still indoctrinating into myself:
Yesterday's New Quintet and its rendition of Stevie Wonder songs (on "Stevie")...Madlib's old gang, Lootpack...and, I guess "Shades of Blue" was released on the Blue Note label, not Stone's Throw, and there are those who lambast it for being a subpar "remix", but it has become a record I listen to over and over again.

My own verdict on "Stevie" and Lootpack is still inconclusive...but listen away, anyway!
