Kemaru :Leaving Chapter 2

Kibum didn’t know what to do. Everyone was staring at him, and Kevin was crying while being held against Soohyun. Everyone was waiting an answer, a moment, something from Kibum. Kibum did the only thing he thought was logical at that time, he ran. He ran out of the practice room and to their dorms. If anyone noticed him they didn’t stop him from running, tears rimming his eyes just waiting to fall. But Kibum wouldn’t let them fall, he hasn’t since he was in the cab after leaving Kevin. He couldn’t give Kevin up, but he realized that a little too late. After the cab took off all those months ago he saw Kevin turn away from the window. He should have looked back! No, looking back wouldn’t have been enough, he should have kept in contact with Kevin, and he should have stayed his boyfriend! As he climbed the stairs to their 7th floor apartment instead of taking the elevator, Kibum was yelling at himself for how stupid and selfish he was being. After fumbling for his keys, Kibum opened the door and ran straight for his bedroom. He was the only one who didn’t have a roommate, because if he couldn’t sleep with Kevin, he wanted to sleep alone. Kibum sighed closing the door to his bedroom and locking it. He slid down the door and brought his knees up to his chest and began to cry. He knew no one was in the dorm and they wouldn’t be back for quite some time, so he didn’t bother trying to keep quiet.
“Why! Kevin why! Why, after all these months…why are you still so beautiful…why is your voice still so happy….were you really fine without me?” Of course Kibum scoffed. Every time he called Jun Hyung he said Kevin was fine. Kibum even saw Kevin on T.V, smiling, playing and laughing with the other members. Kevin really did get over Kibum. Maybe the new Junvin fangirls weren’t lying. He sighed, running a shaky hand through his hair. Get a grip Kibum, Kevin was in love with you, he wouldn’t get over you so fast would he. No of course not, it was all for the fans, yes of course! The fans! He couldn’t let his fans worry over him so he had to put a happy face on. That’s it.
Kibum crawled to his bed and retrieved a shoe box. He opened it and took out all the signed and stamped envelopes. None of them were sealed so he could re-read everything he had written.
“October 2nd, Dear Kevin,
How are you? Are you well? I hope you’re not feeling sick, it’s kind of chilly lately so I hope you are keeping warm. Kevin, my dear lovely Kevin, my angle. Do you miss me? I hope you miss me but not enough to hurt. I miss you Kevin, so much its killing me inside. I guess it’s my own fault huh? I shouldn’t have left you Kevin.”
Kibum stopped reading there as the tears in his eyes were making it too hard to see. He tucked everything back into place then made his way to the bathroom to wash his face. Kevin was back in his life and this was his chance to make it right again.
After Kibum had stormed out, Kevin finally lifted his head off his Hyung’s chest.
“Th-thank…you.” He whispered as Soohyun started to wipe his tears. Kevin was so confused, he had no idea Kibum joined a new group. Well why would he? Kibum didn’t want anything to do with Kevin anymore. He made it clear the day he left without looking back.
“Kevin, what happened between you and Kibum?” Dongho asked innocently only to be given glares from his Hyungs, all but Kevin of course as he just sat there sniffling trying to collect his thoughts.
“We…Kibummie, he.. I…do you know anything?” Kevin asked finally standing up on shaky legs only to lean against the wall while Eli came back with water for him.
“All we know is Kibum had a relationship with a band member from his old group. He loved him, and he broke up with him before he left the group.” Alexander said while rubbing his head, of course that’s not exactly what Kibum said about him. He went on about what an angel he was and how he messed up big time. Xander remembered the first few months that Kibum kept to himself, whenever Xander would go to the bathroom late at night he could hear Kibum crying. So wanting to help his dongsang he’s open the door to see Kibum writing letters, one day he approached Kibum who more than willingly spilled his heart out. Alexander knew it would benefit Kevin to hear just how much Kibum has missed him, because it was obvious despite what Kibum had thought, Kevin missed him just as much if not more.
“Let’s get some food and head back to the dorm.” Soohyun said looking straight at Alexander who only nodded, their eye communication being 100% as always. Alexander and Kevin went to go pick up food while the others went home to try and help Kibum before anymore drama unfolded.
“Kevin, I know this is not the right time, but because of your late entry you have to share a room with Kibum.” Kevin looked up, jaw slacked as he tried to find the words to say he’d rather stay at his own apartment, but before he could Alexander continued to make the situation worse.
“Kibum has the single bedroom, so you have to share a bed to. I’m sorry and there nothing we can do about it. The way you and Kibum were in your old group, well it’s like that here too.”
Kevin could only nod in understanding, and he wasn’t going to complain about it because they all have been living together for longer than Kevin has been in the group. Xander and Kevin talked on the way back to the dorm about the “couples” in the group. How Soohyun was over protective of Dongho and how him and Eli were very close, no one had feelings like Kevin and Kibum, but it was just the same something that shouldn’t have been tampered with.
“I’ll be fine with him Hyung, don’t worry.” Kevin said flashing his angelic smile at Alexander, even though he knew deep down this was a bad idea. When Kibum left, something happened to Kevin that only Jun Hyung knew about, and he promised to keep that a secret.
Kibum was sitting on the couch holding himself waiting for the others. When the door opened he jumped up right away and peered over the shoulders of Soohyun, Eli and Dongho to find Kevin. Only he didn’t see Kevin or Alexander.
“Where…where is…” Kibum couldn’t continue, just talking about Kevin brought a big lump in his throat.
“Him and Alexander are buying food, we did this to give you some time. He’s sharing your room Kibum, anything you don’t want Kevin to find go hide now.” Kibum went without a second thought to hide the letters and pictures he had of Kevin around his room. Kibum wanted to make this work and get back with Kevin, but he had to make sure Kevin still felt the same. Kibum never stopped loving him, not even for a second. He was always on his mind, but he couldn’t tell Kevin this, not now.
He hid everything he didn’t want Kevin to find in the bottom drawer of his dresser. When he walked out Kevin and Alexander had just entered the dorm with food. Kibum strode into the kitchen where the rest of them were, not daring to make eye contact with Kevin. Nothing was really said during dinner except Alexander’s pestering at Kevin to eat more because he was way too skinny.
“I’m just really not all that hungry hyung. Thank you though. I think I’d rather just sleep.” Before Kevin could stop himself, for the first time since the practice room Kibum looked at him. They both knew Kevin was sleeping in his bed, so Kibum would have to show him the room.
“I’ll show you…our room” Kibum felt a pang in his heart, it had been so long since he had shared a room with Kevin, he didn’t forget how soft his skin was. Or how when Kevin got cold at night he’d snuggle up closer to Kibum (if that was even possible considering the only way they could have been closer would have been to…be more intimate). He sighed and wondered if Kevin would still find warmth in him.
Kevin followed Kibum to their bedroom and looked around, it was clean. Kibum always liked keeping things neat and organized. So not much seems to have changed with him, that’s good right?
“You’re dresser…it’s the blue one.” Kibum said sounding a colder than he wanted. He wasn’t trying to be cold, he was just nervous.
“Thank you Hyung.” Kibum winced at the honorifics Kevin used. Sure, they haven’t spoken in months. But still, Kibum and Kevin had something once. They should still be on familiar terms. Right? Kibum shook his head trying to stop thinking of the past.
“I’m going to wash up.” Kibum said as he left the room leaving Kevin alone. He sighed and looked at the bed. It was big enough where he wouldn’t have to be near Kibum. He wanted to be near him, to hold him, hug him and beg him to take him back but Kevin couldn’t. Kibum left him and said to move on, so he figured Kibum did the same too. Kevin climbed into bed after changing into his pajama’s and slide closest to the wall and nuzzled into his pillow trying to get comfortable. But he knew, nothing was as good as Kibum’s chest as a pillow.
Kibum walked in to see Kevin just starting to lay down, he noticed Kevin was wearing the pajama’s he bought for him when they had first started dating. He couldn’t believe Kevin still had them. They were a little bigger than he remembered them being on him, did Kevin really lose that much weight since he last saw him? He shook his thoughts as Kevin sat up and looked at him.
“Hyung, there something you should know..” Kevin said and looked at his lap trying to think of how to word it. They sat in silence for 5 minutes before Kibum yawned loudly.
“Never mind Hyung, thank you for sharing your room with me.” Kevin bowed in his place and laid down while Kibum climbed into bed.
“It’s alright dongsang. Good night.” Kibum had his back to Kevin as he did Kibum. Kibum was sleeping relatively well, probably from being emotionally drained, until he woke up to the most blood churning scream he’s ever heard in his life. He shot up and looked around only to stare wide eyed as the scream came again, and it came from the beautiful angel next to him.
What’s wrong with Kevin :O ?!?! Who knows?! Well I know J
