What a bunch of cowards you sceptics are. Not got the guts to have someone come and put an opposing view and have a decent debate? Oh, well hopefully you will have another evening to discuss the appalling record of self-regulation of the pharmaceutical industry, something that results in the deaths of thousands of patients annually and something which Prof Colquhoun should at least know something about. (Bet you don't though - bread , sides and butter etc.)

Brave anonymous,
You are more than welcome to come and debate the issues. All are welcome, although if you deflect the debate onto the evils of pharmaceutical companies, you might well stand accused of ducking the issues. Constructive debate on regulation within CAM is more than welcome.

Dear Andy If I thought this was going to be anything other than an alcohol fuelled jeer and sneer session I would take up your invitation. But no doubt, with Ben Goldacre and his running pack of London based bloggers there to cheer you on, it will be just that. Let me know if you want a proper debate some time. BA

Dear Anonymous,
I'm the main organiser of Skeptics in the Pub and I have asked many distinguished people to give an opposing view or have a debate at our meetings. Very few have taken us up on the offer and most I have approached have declined outright - I care not to mention names for obvious reasons.
If you would like to put someone forward for a debate, please send them in my direction. I'd gladly have them aboard.
If not, I'll assume that they are the real cowards.
