anyone know where i can sell a 3-year old but brand new hardrive 12" mac powerbook? i tried craigslist and all i got was this sketchy 'i'll wire you money, give me all your info' reply. i don't want it and REALLY need some money. would ebay be better?

I would go eBay because there's more security in the sale - for reasons like you describe with the Craigslist reply. You can also do a search for recently closed or ended auctions that match your description (it's under advanced search). That way you can see what things are actually selling for, as opposed to just what people are starting their bids at. If it's less than what you want to sell it for, then keeping trying other routes. If it looks good, go for it!

how much do you want for it? my husband and i are really wanting to purchase a mac.

i'm looking for $600. it also has microsoft office on it (so word, powerpoint, excel) and a carrying bag for the computer. i just had the new hard drive installed in may, but then got a new mac as a gift so i don't need this one anymore, so i've barely used the 12" since may. the only thing that might need to be updated is the battery. it works fine when plugged in but the battery won't last too long without the power cord.
