I hope that story is not from the United States. The psychiatrist broke so many ethical and professional rules that it wasn't even funny. The fact that he was so attracted to her that he wanted to spend extra time with her, is reason for a mental health professional to refer the patient to another doctor IMMEDIATELY. But that whole article was FUCKED UP. I can't even speak I'm so shocked.

yea i was really shocked as well. here's the link to the original article if that sheds any light on where it's from:
http://www.prospect-magazine.co.uk/article_details.php?id=7321&category=175&issue=517

from that address, i think it's from the uk. but does the uk have such different ethical rules? that's really crazy.

I dunno man.. this sounds like a plant..

"the junior psychiatrist was struck by the patient’s beauty: shoulder-length brown hair, slender in hipster jeans and a fitted T-shirt"

I mean, come on.. this reads more like soft-core porn.. I call bullshit..

I agree. it didn't sound like a scientific or professional journal at all.

Wow. I don't think it's scientific either, but damn. Fucked up nonetheless.

I'm sorry but I'm siding with the doctors. It was the author of the article, and not the doctor, who inserted everything about beauty. To the doctors, it could simply have been "weight gain." As clinical and dispassionate as that. 42 pounds in three weeks? If one of your friends gained 42 pounds in three weeks, wouldn't you be concerned ( ... )
