crash? wow that's lame. i actively disliked that movie, which is fine as i'm not a movie expert. but i do think i can spot a good movie. i know some people loved it and it's critically acclaimed and what not. i know i'm not the only one that thinks it's nowhere near the best movie of the year. i knew brokeback wouldn't win since the movie ( Read more... )

I'm with you about Crash and you're one of the first few people that's agreed...While I enjoyed the concept (as well as most of the people involved in the movie and am thus happy for them) I don't believe it was brought to fruition near as well as it might have been, nor was it half as "disturbing" as I was led to believe by so many before I saw it...There was just something ...i don't know... almost "dumbed down" in it? Something that just struck me as "off." Since it is the only movie that was in contention for Best Picture that I actually have seen so far I guess I really can't say too much but i was at the very least quite surprised that it won...
i miss mock trial! that was fun!

yea, the concept is a good one of showing how all people are racist to some extent against many kinds of people, but the delivery was bad and i dont see how it is a movie about 'love and tolerance'. there is no love or tolerance in that movie. the white racist cop saving the black woman at the end isn't his ultimate lesson of tolerance. nor is sandra bullock's dependence on her maid. but i do love me some don cheadle.
