I'm right there with you. The government shouldn't have a right to tell private business owners that they cannot allow perfectly legal behavior inside their premises. If cigarettes are so offensive, they should make them illegal; they won't right now, as they're getting too much money from the taxes on them.
It's a slippery slope, and I'm scared to death of where it's going to lead. The fact that I'm a nonsmoker and I now never have to dine in a smoking section again doesn't matter; the market should be creating nonsmoking restaurants, etc, not the government.
