Cameras - Help ?

Alas i managed to loose my camera at Mera Luna - It was a Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1080. 10MP, 3x Zoom. Very small and quite simple to use and i got some interesting pics from it. There is a slim chance it may return, but i doubt it. Biggest loss was the pics from ML, but i'll just have to go back and try and re-capture them ( Read more... )

was also going to recommend DP review, but amazon reviews also worth a look.

Gillian gets very good results from her fujifilm subcompact.

think the lumix's tend to have a good image but slow startup and shutter lag.

If I was buying a new camera now I'd get the Canon IXUS 980, though that's over your budget! I was inspired to look for a dream camera by my friend's Ixus 870 which is cheaper.

Ebay gives it at round £220 so its afordable. However the 3.7x zoom is a bit low and at 15MP it is probably a bit beyond its size of silicon. Too high an MP can actualy be a bad thing !

Looks to have gotten good user reviews, although Cnet only gives it 7 !

I've heard lots of good things about the Panasonic Lumix. enlyyl has recently bought one (not sure of the exact model) and she loves it; I had a quick play and am tempted to get one myself!
