Heh, excellent choices. I do have to confess I've never quite managed to finish Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell though I should have another go now I have a paperback copy. The hardback was just too huge and unwieldy, and I could only read a few chapters at a time before my arms started to hurt and I had to put it down.

If you don't cry at any point while reading/listening to The Time Traveller's Wife, you are dead inside. It's just so lovely and sweet and awful and doomed.

I keep banging on about the Gentleman Bastard books to people. The sequel to The Lies of Locke Lamora is also brilliant and I can't wait for the third one.

Sadly, Scott is having a really bad time of it lately.. (I know someone who knows him) so I suspect the third will suffer more delays.. But the first two are excellent.

Lee, if you haven't read The Name of the Wind by Pat Rothfuss you really should.

Bah, that sucks. I saw from his website that his marriage broke up recently which is rotten for him.

(I also note from his website that hot DAMN he's cute. And about my age. I hadn't expected that...)

that one book Jonathan Strange i just couldn't get in...also simon favorite and i tried to read it but one of the rare occasion i gave up 3/4 through...

i was surprised it had all the elements for me to like it..but i really didn't ...so so rare for me to give up on a book ...but i forced my way to 3/4 and just lost the will to continue :(
