If I presented you with a green cookie/cake/meringue/macaroon what flavour would you associate with it before you tasted it. i.e what flavour do you associate with the colour green?
Green is variable. Could be mint, like C said. Could also be sour apple or lime or pistachio. Just like red could be cinnamon or strawberry or cherry or peppermint or watermelon...
Thanks hon :) I knew the colours and flavours would get nice suggestions from you! I am going for green tea meringues and pistachio macaroons (possibly with white chocolate buttercream filling).
As to why, back in November I was asked to bake things for a Christmas fair which Shaun's job participated in. I did a few different things and then was asked, by Shaun's work again, to do 9 gift baskets for the different doctors for Christmas. Which I did and which had a nice reception as far as we know. So now I was asked to provide something for Saturday in the shop... and I was thinking pretty pale spring colours in macaroons, meringues, cookies and cakes...
have the first set of meringues in the oven now...
I'd go with mint, wasabi, "green" (like fake green cherries), grass, honeydew melon, lime! oh yeah I love lime why didn't I thinko fthat first? *thinks* could be zucchini cake.
oh right. macarons too. I had passion fruit macarons that they were green.
would have loved to experiment with melon but i am saving that for another day I think.:) as for lime I could see that working.. i just... don't relaly like the taste myself LOL
well for the meringues green tea (with citrus) and Green tea (with pear and apple) won out. tiny cute little things they are too. well the ones with citrus anywya, haven't made the other batch yet.

It's helpful to sniff before you bite.
So now we need to know _why_.

Then it would be pistachio, followed by mint, followed by just food coloring for color.
