You seem to be heading for a depression. Its definitely worth trying not to beat yourself up so much; you're a nice guy, and you've got a lot going for you. But its always hard to keep that in mind when you focus your efforts on kicking yourself when you're down.
Losing the job is a big blow (even if it wasn't what you wanted to be doing) and you're bound to feel the hurt. As an exercise, you might like to try re-writing the LJ post, but spend the first four paragraphs detailling all the good stuff you packed into the last one, and cramming the crap into a throwaway at the end. Its a bit artificial, but you'll be surprised at how much of this is about perspective.
Bottom line? Its a real bummer about the job, and the relationship thing, and that's two big hits in a short time, but you're still the same great guy you were before all that shit happened, and you'll bounce back. Its just that it'll take a while before you remember it. Hang in there guy.
Like Lewis says, you really do yourself down and it's like everyone knows what a talented and clever guy you are except you. But like I said to you the other day, you have to take these things as learning exercises and learn from them. If you feel like something you're about to say is going to offend them, no matter how stupid they are, think before you say it. If you want to bitch and take the piss out of them when they've gone then you'll feel better! That's what I do anyway! So anyway, despite what you think, there are, and have always been people who care about you no matter how they show it. xxx
hey man.hang in there.sounds like you're having a really tough time.no matter how good or bad things are though they always change.being a guy i'm generally pretty shit at these sorts of things.but, you're a top bloke.*blokey punch to the arm* i've never once found you miserable at all.i find it difficult myself but try not to put yourself down.try to look forward not backwards.maybe buy some new porn.that always cheers me up.although not for long i'll admit.take it easy man.i'm gonna try and be more sociable so,i'll hopefully see you soon
