I visited there a few years ago (amish people are funny) and said Lan-cas-ter several times to locals including the woman who owned the hotel I was staying at. Nobody corrected me. :x

Wow that's a shocker! I've been corrected by my friend and his father til I finally got it right, I'd say you lucked out!

This may be insensitive to say, but I could totally do without the Amish people, their horse and buggies slow down traffic and their horses can leave "roadapples" everywhere without a care in the world, gross!

From what I've seen/read, only people in PA and some "Lancaster" that's in England say it that way. They're right, the rest of the world is wrong! lulz

Dude I live 20 minutes from Lancaster PA, I even know someone who got hit by a DUI Amish guy in a horse and buggy.
