I haven't played any trading card games significantly since I quit Magic in late high school -- okay, so I've played a few games since then, but not bought any -- but I feel like a major dork for recognizing the name of one of the designers. Darwin Kastle was a big name in the Magic pro-tours many years ago, wasn't he? I don't even know who I'd play with if I started buying a new TCG now, though. All my semi-local friends are from contradance, my biggest gaming friend just moved to NYC, and I'm planning to sell my enormous Magic collection (but never quite get around to it...)

Darwin and Rob are both Hall of Fame magic players, yeah. Boston is the only city in the world with two and I work for them, it is pretty sweet.

Where are you at now? If you're in Boston, I run the Epic organized play, we don't have tons of people but we have events twice a week at Your Move Games.

I'm relatively near Boston. Andover, to be specific. I might enjoy coming down for an Epic event or two, but I'm not looking to buy a whole lot or add another hobby. Does Your Move Games buy Magic collections, btw? If they'd buy an enormous collection including most of a full set of dual lands, it would save me a lot of trouble trying to do that online. I wouldn't want to sell the duals without the rest of the collection, though, because then it would be 10 times harder to sell the rest as a whole.

I don't know off the top of my head. I know James at Fantasy Realms in Pittsfield at least used to, you'd have to call YMG and see if they would.

If you're ever bored, we play Sunday afternoon (draft at 2:00) and Wednesday evening (7:00.) Draft is much more newbie friendly but we have decks to loan out for the Wednesday ones too.
