today wasn't bad. i powerwashed the front walk and did some staining of the house. manual labor sucks but it's emotionally cleansing to be out here and veritably detached from my everyday life. though i'm looking forward to going back home this saturday

you always have interesting thoughts too Brooks, and you naturally use metaphors and analogies just like I do -- I like doing that though as well. I've also thought this for a long time -- that being human means life's not perfect and you'll always have good times and bad times and that it wouldn't be life if you didn't have your share of both. In the past year, I decided that this is why I believe couples should have their arguments and whatnot at times if they have a good and healthy relationship. I think couples that claim they never fight either have an unhealthy relationship (where if they had a fight, they'd make it into a big deal when it's not, then they'd break up), or they have a boring relationship. As weird as it is, little arguments and challenging one another and keeping things interesting is more fun and I think people are happier if they have that in the relationship also. It's like if you never have a fight, then you can never make up, which is an emotional experience that people deserve to have because it's a
