Skating Lessons Part Two.

For some reason I was absolutely terrified of stepping onto the ice this week. I haven't fallen yet, so it wasn't that. I have no idea, but I was shaking and forgetting to breathe and everything. Frog says I was looking like I was going to pass out.

I saw your earlier post, and was looking forward to an update - very cool that you're learning to skate! Extra socks are good, because they give extra support to the ankles - helps prevent the wobblies, when your ankles feel like they're trying to snap.

Evgeni is a great name, is it short for Evil Genius? ;)

I guess you just have to speak their language, huh?
Those type always back off when confronted, it confuses them because few people ever do it.

I have a very dear friend who mocks me about my serial obsessions. She mocks me about Duran, she mocked me about hockey (until I took her to a game and she went gooey over a goalie.) and now she's mocking me about skating. Apparently I'm a source of endless entertainment for her. Which is a good thing, right?

I thought extra socks were good, but then the foot cramps happened, so I'm not sure about that now. The hire skates are solid plastic for miles, so no extra ankle support needed there, but maybe when I get my own skates...

And YES Evegeni must absolutely short for Evil Genius. How did I not see that before?

Evgeni has since explained the slalom in much more detail, and it makes sense. It's all about weight placement and getting the right angle going. More on that when I get to post again.

I'm still trying to figure out how those girls could wear mini skirts to a rink. I mean, surely their legs went all purple and goosey? Not attractive. Also? Pain.

I vow never to have toe pick issues. It's hockey skates or nothing for me. Well, until I can graduate to goalie skates... What? There's a serious lack of goalies in my part of the universe. I just want to help the hockey community by giving them someone to mock while filling a hole in front of the net. It's purely altruistic.

We had two, count 'em TWO hot guys on our team and you lot came in and STOLE one. STTTOOOLLLLEEEEE. You are a thief, a thief and a.......well I cant think of another thing, but you're soooo it. A snitcher, yeah you thieved and snitched him. Now Pyatt has to kinda hold down the pretty fort all on his own. Poor poor Pyatt. Humph

He was just homesick. Plus, if you're going to be back up and get snuggled like the icon, wouldn't anyone prefer to be snuggled by Fleury??? Seriously.

Anyway, Luongo doesn't need back up. he's like supergoalie or something. Inhuman, I tell you.
