So here I am at work. Not allowed a computer so I'm using my phone. Basically I spend 13 hours in my car and only go for a short walk every hour and then a short drive immediately after. Which leaves about 45 minutes of every hour unaccounted for. But hey, I'm getting paid for it

Ah, I had that trait as well, but managed to lose it while I was incapacitated. Even if a book is obviously cack, I'll still give it more than a fair chance, say 50+ pages, before I stop the misery. Mercifully, those books are rare; they have to be absolute shitski for me to vanquish them. As long as there is some flicker of goodness in a book, no matter how remote, I'll work my way through it.

I've actually got a couple of other books on the go as well. But they're biographies and I can only take so much of those at a time. So I'll flit between them all until they're all finished.

Nah, the concept never interested me when I first heard about it. High school kids? Oh please, I have slightly above zero and slightly below 1 interest in the dealings of high school kids. And vampires...has to be something really unique about it for me to want to read about vampires.
Though I will say, I am still a comic book and manga fiend, and am more lenient about subject matter with them than in regular 'books'.

I've tried the whole comic book/manga thing but I just can't get engrossed. I can admire the skill but don't appreciate the art as I should. I'm the same with animated films. There's a faulty switch in my brain that tells me if it isn't a realistic image, it should be all about talking animals with no pants. Annoying really.
Is there anything you think is a must read that might fix that?
