Who or what, if anything, would you die for?
I don’t think I’d die for anyone, not intentionally anyway. I’d fight and maybe I’d end up dying, but I’m not jumping in front of a bullet for someone or willingly giving my life to a cause.

Who or what, if anything, would you kill for?
My family and my friends, if it kept them safe. No questions asked, I’d do it. And general justice, yeah. I want to be a cop. I have to be willing to kill for the greater good.

Would you rather learn everything there is to know, or experience everything there is to experience?
Experience. Yeah, yeah ,yeah, knowledge is power and all but it means nothing in the real world without experience. It’ll get you into college, sure, but without any real experiences, you’re not getting anywhere.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Uh, I don't know. It'd be pretty fucking awesome to read minds, I guess.

Which would you rather give up: television or books?
I’m sure people expect me to say books. I’ve heard the jokes about how oh, Bren doesn’t know how to read and whatever. But honestly? I’d rather read anyway. It’s not like I sit around reading, I don’t know, fucking War and Peace or anything but I do read. And I don’t watch too much TV. It’s more of a guilty pleasure, and I’d be fine without it.

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re alone?
I like to read. I know, I’m not the kind of guy people think studies or reads for fun, and I don’t bother correcting their misconceptions. But yeah, I do read a lot. Maybe not the greatest novels of our time, but. I really like Chuck Klosterman and Douglas Coupland because apparently, I’m a lost, confused twentysomething. Whatever, I like it.

If you could solve any one current world crisis, which would you solve?
Poverty. It's fucking disgusting, man. You have these Upper East Side idiots throwing away money on things they don't need and that aren't important, and then you have people, all over the world, who are really working hard but barely have enough to get by.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people think they’re entitled to things because of their name or wealth or whatever else. I don’t care what your Daddy does. I’m not going to bow down to you, especially if you’ve done nothing of any worth.

If you could be on one TV reality show, which would it be?
I feel like I should say some show that actually has some merits or requires some skill, but fuck it. I would never go on TV just to win money, so might as well go for something completely shallow. The Real World. This is implying that I could go back in time to when it didn’t suck.

Is the glass half empty or half full?
I’ve never understood this question. It’s stupid. And wouldn’t it matter more what’s in the glass? My answer could change depending on what I’m drinking. But fine, you want to know if I’m an optimist or a pessimist so here. Half full. Anyone who thinks that the world is all rainbow and sunshine is deluded. Everything is fucked up, but if you focus on that, it’ll eat you alive. You got to think about what you do have, focus on what that glass is half full of, and figure out how you can top it.

Do you believe in love at first sight?
I don’t believe in love. Not for me, anyway. I’m barely cut out for the whole having friends thing. Love at first sight is out of the question. Not gonna happen. Maybe it’ll happen for someone else, who knows. I’m not going to sit here and say what is and isn’t love for someone else. Maybe it’s possible for another person. It seems unlikely but stranger shit has happened.

Do you believe in God?
I’m supposed to. Irish Catholic, God is a pretty big deal. I guess it’s sort of a casual belief. I’m not really sure what I think but I go through the motions because maybe there is something out there.

If you could commit any felony with impunity, which would it be?
I would rob a bank or something and give the money to my parents. I’m glad I didn’t grow up with money because I would have been a totally different person, and I’m happy with who I am. But my parents, they worked so hard, but it’s almost impossible to really fight the system and break the cycle. The American Dream is a lie told to keep people working, but really it’s next to impossible to move up significantly. But they deserve to have everything they want and everything they need and if I could give it to them, I would do it in a heartbeat.

If you were on the Titanic and there was only room for one person on your lifeboat, would you save your mother or your best friend?
My mom. She’s my mother, man. I have to save her. This isn’t even a question.

Would you sleep with your boss to keep from losing your high-end job?
I don’t know. If I was desperate, maybe. But I work hard, I would have earned that position honestly, because of talent or potential or sheer determination, I don’t know. So it’s hard to believe that it’d really come to that. And it’s funny because I’d probably sleep with my boss, I’m not going to lie. Not to get ahead or anything but, you know, just because. But to save my job? Man, that is entirely different. I feel like it would somehow negate all of the hard work that I did. That said, I think I’d do it.
