Don't undermine the joy you get from these simple gestures of affection by applying some kind of psychological need to them.

You can be as cuddly as you so wish and it can mean nothing more than you enjoy offering physical affection and are less inhibited than most in that arena. This makes you lucky, not damaged.

It was lovely to have you in our home yesterday, hugs and all.

Well, it is called Body Language, so one would expect it to have its own vocabulary, syntax, and idioms. And, of course, various dialects.

I know you've been having a tremendously hard time in recent years, so feel free to lean in this direction any time.
