My father just fell. Just walked in from the drive up to Montville, shuck my jeans and fall into my moist warm bed and there's this double whump! in the next room and I poke my head out and he's fallen and, say it with me, can't get up     He's going "Uh, maybe you can help

Whoo, family health problems are no fun. Sorry to hear about this. Was he able to get up again later? Any idea what caused it?

Nothing new, just the first time I've encountered it. He has early vascular dementia that has been alternately diagnosed as Parkinsons and Alzheimers but is most probably related to the latter. He's fine now, actually rather cheerful.
