Germany for about five months. For study abroad.

I could have plausibly started down the road toward mine by now, except for the large cash bribes expected at every step of the process. Well, they call them "filing fees" and "paperwork charges" and other such things, but they amount, essentially, to the same thing.

I know. I payed those official bribes your talking about to "expedite" the process and keep it from taking six weeks.

Are you really going to China? (I probably missed something since I haven't been on your f-list very long.) That's so cool. I love to travel. I've never been to Asia, though. I've been all over Europe, lived there three times: Turkey, France and Germany.

Yes, I'm going to China. That's where my fianceé is from. We're going to be married there. It's been in the works for a very long time.

Thanks, Bee! The next step is getting a visa from the Chinese consualte in Chicago.

Hopefully, they have no idea of the things I've said about their government. ;)

Oddly enough, I met her in an ICQ chatroom. We started out as friends but over time it became clear that she very different from all the other women I'd been with. I eventually asked her to marry me and she said yes. :)

ICQ! i didn't know people still used that. so it's an internet relationship. and a loooooooong distance one at that. i complain because my boyfriend lives in ohio and i rarely get to see him; i couldn't imagine what it would be like if my love was halfway across the globe.

congratulations to you and i pray blessings and happiness on your marriage!

Well, I don't use it anymore, myself. I was just trying it out to see if I liked it. I was even about to quit using it when I met her. If she'd waited a week or two longer...I would never have met her at all.
