is sad.
So I'm pretty sad right now.
I'm currently in NROTC at my university and I was trying to switch my current scholarship as a Navy Option (meaning I'd commission as an Officer in the US Navy) to a Marine Option (I'd go through OCS and if I graduate from that, I'd commission as an Officer in the US Marine Corps). I sent in my package a few weeks ago, and I just got the results today.
I didn't get it. ):
All of the Officer's and many other people were stunned since I had so much going for me. I'm not trying to brag, but I had high scores for my physical fitness, my grades, and my military aptitude; my major was also a great one. Each of those things made me top 5 in my entire unit of 65ish (which goes from Freshmen to Seniors). So it came as a great surprise to everyone that I didn't get it.
It turns out that the review board only selected 3 in the entire nation to switch their scholarships, so that doesn't make me feel too bad, but it's something I really wanted and I've been working so hard for. The worst part about it is that you are supposed to get the scholarship by your Junior year in order to be able to switch options, but my Junior year starts in the Fall so I can't submit another package.
I guess that's it. I prob won't have another update for awhile either... Sorry, all.
I've got great friends && family and I'm feeling motivated again. (:
