My life in technological hell

Apr 17, 2005 21:33

I have the place to myself this weekend and was all set to ignore the big mess of clothes and paper that has taken over my room and instead gorge on Oz and SVU DVDs and videos, hoping for the muses to return. But fate had other, mean and mocking plans. My Powerbook, which I should have taken in to be fixed months ago, has decided to commit pom- ( Read more... )

After it rejected "Closer" about 100 times (and maybe I should have taken that as a sign)

That it doesn't like Julia Roberts, yes. You spoiled it with all that Meloni, what was it supposed to do?

It was as if the actors were animated LJ icons.

You mean they're...not? Jude Law is so unnaturally pretty I've never for a second believed that he's a real person.

Here's hoping your technological woes end soon!

Maybe that's the reason Steven Spielberg cast Jude as that gigolo android in AI.

You have no idea the kind of separation anxiety I have at the mere thought of giving up my Powerbook. It's really quite pathetic.

Hee. So if I tried to play "Runaway Bride," the DVD would work. Even though JR rejects CM, a decision I could never quite fathom.

Now that you mention it, I have no real proof that they are human. Maybe noir_moll and Steven Spielberg really are on to something!

My favorite part of that movie was when CM punched Richard Gere: Something I've wanted to do for years. Does that make me a bad buddhist? If he had punched JR the film would have been perfect, IMO.

Sounds like my house. When one appliance breaks or goes on the blink, three others go with it.

Oh, how I love Clive Owen. He's been on my lust radar since Second Sight and his role as "The Driver" in the BMW.com shorts. Sadly, my unquenchable hatred of Julia Roberts has kept me away from Closer.

I really like Clive Owen, too, but his character was reprehensible in the movie. All four of them were basically worthless. The movie thinks it's provocative, but it's really just pandering. As one review put it, it was like porn without the sex.

That's no fun for anyone!

Ditto on JR. HATE.

And a happier ditto for Clive Owen. He is sexy/cool.
