The answer is going be (seems like) forever in coming. All we can do is rewatch the eppy once in a while to keep happy. I was even pleased that the DVD had the pilot episode which kinda made it seem like 4 eppy for season 1.

Actually I agree with every sentence you've written in this post. I hadn't seen the blog too until much later, and was so surprised to see Sherlock's Analysis post deleted. I really wanted to read that. :D But I think it was always like that. :( The comments on John's blog are hilarious! The occasional comments by Harry, Lestrade and even that female character who called SH a psychopath(forgot the name :D) were so funny!
I was really skeptical about watching Sherlock initially, cos in my mind, I couldn't picture SH in modern London, without a cigar, without that typical setting. But one episode, and I was hooked. What an awesome series it has been! Can't wait until 2013. T_T

In regards to references to the books, I think I squeal (inwardly ) like a fangirl whenever one comes up in the show. And they made him wear the hat! He hates it, but it's the deerstalker - so brilliant! LOL
Yeah, the post about the Tobacco Ash was probably always 'deleted' but just knowing why it was deleted is so funny and cute.
