I dont really get the big hype all that much. I chose on purpose the book cover here, because atleast the book is sortoff decent. Althought I laghed my head off when Edward began to sparkle. Now little girls all around the world will start believing the reason the hot pale guy in the neightbourhood dont go outside because he might sparkle, and not because he is an insane axe murdrer. Or something like that. XD
No, I only half finished the movie. I just thought it was way too much when the Vampires began to sparkle. It was just too much. One thing is reading it, but *seeing* it? It was like a knife to my vampire loving heart who kept on twisting. Sure, I get how this can appeal to the lonely teenage girls, (and some boys) But really.. Eve The Vampire Diaries series is ten times better. I am gonna quote the Vampire Damon as his human gf ask him why he dont sparkle. "Because I live in the real world where vampires burn in the sun!"
There is so many better vampire books out there, Like the 'Southern Vampire Mysteries' Also going by the name of 'The Sookie Stackhouse novels.', or the Ann Rice books. But of course, they are not set in a high school setting, which is where most Teenageers can visualise themselves in.
I did read the first book acually, and I am gonna see the second movie aswell, because there is a few reasons to.
The first: I will not say I hate something before I have read\seen it myself.
The second: Christoffer Heyerdahl. Awesome awesome actor.
The Third: Werewolves. Oh god yes, despite being in a sugar sweet lolipop movie, its still a friggin werewolf. At least he don't sparkle.
I will probably provoke the Twilight fans in my F-list when I say this, but I dont find the actor playing Edward that attractive. Did you know he also played in Harry Potter?
'Nuff said about him. Atleast he can act.
Bella on the other hand... she had the looks, but I don't feel she had the acting skills. Most of her lines sounded just that, like lines.
I sortoff wished they had followed the book better because, well, atleast I managed to finish the book. Perhaps I have to hight standards on fictional Litterature in my Shelf? Bram Stokers Dracula (The most awesome Vamp ever) Valerio Massimo Manfreidi - The Oracle, Jean Marie Auel- The Clan of the Cavebears, R. A. Salvatore - Drizzt Do'Urden. And Lord of The Rings, Narnia and Dan Brown books of course ^^ (and an assortment of tenfolds of other brilliant books and such.
REMEMBER BEFORE YOU COMMENT
This is my opinion and mine alone. You have yours, and if you are a fan, then good! Everyone shall have something they like, you probably hate something I like. That is the way it is. I just dont get the hype of it, but that is me. If you are gonna write a comment because you disagree, then take a deep breath and relax before you do so. Write it constructive instead of angry ^^
