I don't know if you have had time to read the whole of the debate, including the testimony. It makes it hard to know what to address, what to quote, what evidence to present. So, for now, I'll just make two comments. If you let me know that you have read the entire book, including all the discussion, and you still have issues, then I'm happy to discuss them. But I don't want to repeat lots of things that are already online.

First point: I think there is an unbridgeable chasm between Cannon and Bernstein. Bernstein was an opponent of the idea of the dictatorship of the proletariat. Cannon was a supporter of the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Second point: You write that Cannon "failed to present the necessity of the dictatorship of the proletariat...". I just posted an entry with some of Cannon's testimony on the subject. I don't know if you read this section or not. What do you think? What would you have said?

I'm a little confused by your response. Of course someone may claim support for the dictatorship of the proletariat but deny it in practice. What confuses me is that you follow that point with a discussion on sabotage. Are your comments about sabotage meant to imply that Cannon didn't really support the dictatorship of the proletariat? Perhaps your Cannon quote lies between your comments about "first point" and "second point" by accident, and is meant to be unrelated. But if it is related, could you expand on that ( ... )
