The next few days are going to be spent housesitting for my parents while they're away down in Sydney. Looking forward to being able to chillout and watch DVD's all day in an actual home theatre type thingy instead of a crappy living room with nought but bean bags to crash on. Take my dog for a walk around the neighbourhood of an afternoon and go

This is neat. I found you by trying the Random Search.
I'm living in NC, USA...formerly of Buffalo, NY. I have a friend who lives in Sydney now.
We've got some other interests in common...being rather the geek myself and having grown up in the 80's.

And...oh crap...what was my favorite...the one with the big ship with the huge death-star like weapon on it...Star-something....Pardon the wine, I was all excited last month to find it on DVD at the library so my kids can see it! (and I still have a thing for blue hair)

I think that the one you're talking about is Starblazers... at least i'm pretty sure that was the english name it went by. It had a large ship in it... looked like a U.S. WW2 submarine and the weapon you're thinking of was a big wave weapon which came out of a big opening at it's front. My brother and i have been marvelling at the incredible lameness of the Super-Friends recently which has surfaced on cable over here... he used to watch it but i never really did not being a big fan of the DC heroes... Anyways... take it easy and might hear from you in the future.
