WHAT? i don't follow you're reply. Thou shalt not murder/kill is TOTALLY what I'm talking about, why the death penalty should be abolished.

and wasn't "an eye for an eye" fullfilled/contradicted by Jesus with "turn the other cheek?"

Jesus wasn't talking about murder. You can't turn the other cheek when someone has killed you.

It's Thou shall not Murder.
Not thou shall not kill.
Killing in war is allright.
Killing without malice is allright in execution terms.
