Do not miss the sarod concert. It is one awesome experience. I went to Atlanta and attended Ustad Amjad Ali Khana nd his sons concert. It's just like seeing God in front of you. So composed and calm. Oh my God!My friends managed to get some snap shots of the maestro and I got an autographed copy of his cd.
Yesh. It's foremost on the list. I saw a Ustad Amjad Ali concert from the 3rd row once and I have never seen anything quite like it. The deftness of his fingers is enchanting; and the apparent effortlessness makes it seem as if the music plays itself around him. Then he stopped for a bit to file his nails! Right there on stage! And the spellbound audience kept on staring, as if hypnotised.
Something similar happened to me when I had been to my first-ever Hindustani concert -- one of V.M.Bhatt at Ambedkar Bhavan. They chose the raag Yaman Kalyani and it was such a wonderful experience. 3 hours of just those 8 notes. Bliss.
The good thing is, Bangalore Habba isn't the only such thing in the year; you'll be able to to go Bhoomi Jathre and Vasant Habba. :-) And, hello! When are you back?
I'll be in time for Vasanata Habba:-) ..Ill be there in the second week of Jan.. But the thing is.. Bangalore Habba has so much more..street theatre , paintings on the boulevard on MG Road, plays etc...
But yeah want to make it to Vasanta Habba. Was there in 2004, was awesome, but the event was cancelled in 2005 due to the Tsunami I think.
Yeah... Bangalore Habba is definitely more colourful. Lit. Classes are over. It was a year long course. Am doing nothing these days - very soul starved.

Have resolved not to have any more projects running into the night, lets see how tough my resolve is.
BTW, Glad to see a positive comment about Bangalore :-). Of late we've had so many people cursing the city ( not really unjustified, but well..)
