Hey guys,

I graduated back in december, but i was wondering- does anyone know when you stop having access to your umbc email? I need to switch over to something else eventually, but I want to know how much time I have..

I graduated in May 2007, though I worked for UMBC until August 2008 and still have mine.

Mine was deleted about 2 years after I stopped being a student there. But I didn't graduate, I transferred...

I graduated in Spring 2006 and they haven't shut me off yet. But I still check my UMBC E-Mail daily (I have it as one of my email accounts in Outlook) and I still login to the Linux boxes once in a while too... I wonder if they just check for inactivity, and shut you off after you've been inactive for a while? MyUMBC shows my status as Alumni though...

used to work for alumni relations- right now- email is available forever for alumni BUT there is a push to just have forwarding privileges forever- ie- you'd still get email sent to your UMBC account as long as you've set another account like gmail or a work email to accept the forwarded emails. They want to change it to forwarding only because its too expensive/takes up too much space to host all the alum emails and there is an alumni email service anyway- check it out at www.umbc.edu/alumni
