~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Kagura is from a clan known as "Yato," who are known for being warriors and for a few other things. That means her skin is really pale so she can't be out in the sun too long, which means she carries an umbrella with her at all times to keep herself in the shade. Said umbrella is super hard and can shield from most things like gunshots, etc, and it also shoots bullets. Sometimes it even dispenses soy sauce...!! It's a magical umbrella.
Aside from having a shieldgun, Yato are super strong by nature. They also heal super fast and sometimes have uncontrollable monsters within them that like to kill everything. Whoops.
Kagura also has a bottomless pit of a stomach. This may or may not be genetic.
How would they use their abilities?: To help out friends, to take freelancing jobs with Gin-chan, to make money to be able to eat at least three bowls of rice a day with raw egg on top!!
Appearance: Kagura is a 14-year-old girl who is 155cm (5', 5' 1") tall and weighs 40kg (88.2lbs) so she is a tiny girl. She has red hair that falls to her shoulders when it's down, but she usually wears it into two decorative buns on either side of her head, covered by... bun cover things. She has blue eyes and pale skin, as mentioned before.
Generally, she wears red, in the style of clothing associated with Chinese culture. She will often wear a qipao with boots or a qipao-style shirt with cuff pants and kung fu/taichi shoes.
Background/Personality: HISTORY
All you need to know is that Kagura is a blunt and cheeky girl with a huge appetite but a really gentle little girl. Yep. Done. We're done.

So, in line with shounen manganime, Kagura's childhood sucked. Her big brother Kamui tried to kill daddy and then left. Actually, according to daddy she was the one who kept him from killing Kamui. After that fight, Umibouzu (Kagura's father) decided he didn't want Kagura growing up the same way so he left her and his sick wife. That kind of put a sore spot on the family. Anyway, before that happened, she had a pet rabbit named Sadaharu who she killed by accident from not knowing her own strength. Although she always wanted a pet, she refrained for fear of killing it again. I guess an explanation of the Yato is in order. Okay, so basically they're monstrous killing machines who thirst for blood. They end up squabbling and alienating everyone and killing/leaving their families. Kagura thought that was a pretty crappy existence and decided to use her powers to protect people instead.
Umibouzu wasn't around a whole lot and then her mother died of illness, so she left home for Earth to try and strike out a better life while simultaneously growing stronger in her own way so she could travel around the universe with her father and be the number one best alien hunter.
She got into trouble with this gang on Earth who promised her good food but she had to kill people and take their balls!! She wasn't into all of that obviously, so she tried to leave, which apparently wasn't cool with the gang. Two guys named Gintoki and Shinpachi who ran (run) a totally non-gay (that isn't sarcasm) freelancing company helped her out of this spot and then she decided to join with them, since she couldn't afford to go home.
That's how she became a member of the Yorozuya (which means odd jobs and will heretofore be used to reference the group of Gintoki, Shinpachi and Kagura. I might also use it to reference the people who work downstairs from the Yorozuya; they don't do Yorozuya things officially but they are part of the Yorozuya family)!
Um, and then a bunch of stuff happened. No, seriously, the series is super episodic. They'll be fighting aliens in one episode, and then in the next one of the characters will be trying to escape a love interest by dressing up in a large bottle of mayonnaise being carted away by a bunch of people wearing large bottles of mayonnaise.
During this time, Kagura made a lot of bonds with the Yorozuya, who in turn made a lot of bonds with Edo, the city in which they reside. She made friends with a princess, tried to entertain the Shogun, puked naruto onto him, tried to save her boys from dangerously cute girls, failed to become a ninja, leveled up hardcore in a videogame, got stuck on an island, made a rivalry with a policeman named Okita Sougo, and so on and so forth.
Chronologically, some things of specific note:

Okay so, Kagura's dad came into town and tried to take her back home, which was SUPER UNCOOL because he'd sort of abandoned her. So anyway, then an alien almost killed her which made Umibouzu recognize Kagura's goals and so he decided she was in good hands with Gintoki until she decides she's strong enough to follow in daddy's footsteps.
-Yoshiwara
This arc was really big for Kagura because Abuto, who is another Yato, was about to kill Shinpachi. KAGURA WAS NOT HAVING ANY OF THAT. So she unleashed her inner crazy and almost killed Abuto, but Shinpachi saved her by reminding her that she isn't a monster. That was the point; she wanted to change, to not give into her INNER YATO BEAST. So even though she unchained the crazy, not all hope was lost!
-Santa
So it was Christmas, and Kagura wanted presents. She was very upset because Santa never came to visit last year... Kagura wanted a Bentendo TS and Gintoki got her... a bunch of advertisements he thought she liked because she looked at them so much. So then her daddy came into town dressed as Santa, but Gintoki was dressed as Santa... and then she thought there were TWO SANTAS! This highlighted her childish nature, naivety, and creativity (uhh... they made up scenarios to decide who was the real Santa.)
-4 Devas
Okay, I'm just including this section because pretty much almost all the characters from the past like three hundred chapters get together as a team! Again, more love all around. ♥ Displays important skills like teamwork! Endurance! Never giving up!
PERSONALITY
Kagura is actually kind of a sweet little girl, who cares deeply for her friends and for people in general. As mentioned previously, she fights against her clan's nature and instead, uses her powers to protect others, often without giving much forethought. But Kagura doesn't think all that much anyway; she's quick to act instead. Unfortunately, this leads to a bunch of problems because she's pretty easy to trick or scam!
Totally blunt, Kagura is not afraid to speak her mind or display a wide range of emotions that she feels. Sometimes she is more reserved-- like when giving chocolates for valentines day or when feeling underappreciated as a girl-- but when she is, oftentimes she displays a cold hurt or upset when this is the case.
But usually Kagura is very fun-loving and positive. She's very friendly and approachable and she has a lot of love to share.
Sometimes, Kagura can be a real brat. She can throw minor tantrums, and tease, and just generally be... well, a brat! I probably had something better to say here but I got distracted...
She is a bit of a tomboy and picks up some bad habits from Gintoki, who she sort of sees as a father figure. Affectionately, she refers to him as "Gin-chan." She also calls her father "Pappy," even when she is upset with him (or at least is pretending to be upset with him) so generally is good-natured and despite all the teasing, isn't so mean or unhappy.
Kagura is sure of herself and confident in her abilities, ready to take on leadership roles and boss people around. She refers to herself sometimes as the Queen of Kabukichou (the district in which they live), is a little headstrong, and can be bossy. Mostly to Shinpachi, because everybody is mean to Shinpachi. But that doesn't mean she doesn't love her friends and it doesn't mean she's not protective of them (since both of these things are true!)
Although she usually knows when to ask for help, she doesn't particularly like asking for help with personal issues. She doesn't mind people knowing really, but she also does things like not mention her family... and all the issues with her family... Even though she wants to help Kamui from himself and thinks it's her duty to keep him from doing stupid things.
She's very excited and adventurous, has a large imagination, is sometimes overdramatic, and much like the rest of her cast, doesn't let things get in her way!! Reality included!!

Today, someone must die. Kagura needs sustenance. She is a growing young girl, and she's hungry, and her stomach is making drr drr noises and generally sounding like it should belong in a horror manga written by Junjo Ito. Not only this, but as she sadly closes Gintoki's refrigerator, and Gintoki's cabinet doors, and Gintoki's pantry door, and Gintoki's desk drawer, she gets steadily more and more desperate. "Why do we live with stupid people who eat all our food?"
And suddenly, as a breeze comes in through the window, she thinks she smells something sweet. Sadaharu smells it too.
They look at each other briefly and then race towards it.
"No Sadaharu!" she cries, restraining him. "You're so big, you've got lots of calories to burn, yup! I read it in Gin-chan's newspaper! Sadaharu!"
His stomach growls and his voice is reduced to a whimper.
She can't resist his sad puppy eyes; he's already won. Hopefully whatever it is, there's enough to share so that they can keep hunting for something to eat that is within their budget range of 0.2 credits.
It rained last night, briefly, which is odd. Why would it rain on a ship?
But it's sunny now, so she takes out her umbrella as she follows Sadaharu outside to find the source of the sweet smell:
A cake.
...Which seems to have been left out in last night's rain.
It is disgusting.
It is a waste of perfectly good cake. She looks at Sadaharu, who barks his disappointment in unison to her sigh of disappointment, and they look at it and feast with their eyes.
Eventually, Sadaharu ventures forth with one foot, but Kagura lifts an arm to halt him and shakes her head.
