Random long-winded blathering about things which are probably obvious

Lately I find myself wanting to write up blog entries, but what's been stopping me is that I feel that blogging (at least through lj) is more of a community thing than it is a personal soap box. ..and while I don't claim to read every single detail of every entry that people on the flist write, I do feel the need to keep up with it and at least ( Read more... )

I don't think you need to worry. Just post about what you feel like, and that will give something for people to talk about with you.

there's pretty advanced features for screening and audience management at omniprofile.com. they closed the new accounts for a bit, but i can probably get you one if you want. i'm at http://omniprofile.com/users/neillm, but to get access to more interesting stuff, you really need an account.

.. just saying that i hear what you're saying and i feel the same way, and thus i've been focusing more on my journals there (directed at particular audiences) rather than lj, but hey ;-)

Like most things in life, there are pros and cons to the situation. (The problem is particularly acute when friends-only LJs are involved, I think. XD) But you know what? You've hit the nail on the head and said things I've wanted to say but haven't been able to find the right words to say them with ( ... )
