Help! I'm doing my poster for the final in costume figure and I need opinions. I have no idea what to do to it. ( Please click and comment with ideas )
The slant composition is good, but the lower left corner doesn't have anything to bring your eye over there. The trailing drape brings you out to the lower right, the fan (?) brings you to the upper left, which immediately brings you across the title, so you don't notice the open space along the middle right. The lower left seems to be asking for something overlapping, perhaps even completely outside, on top of all other layers. A poster is a physical form, and can be treated as such, which means the purple matting can be part of he composition rather than fill border.
Thank you for the advice! I took what you said into consideration and ended up adding a bit of text, especially in the lower left corner. I considered overlapping, but all the text ended up within the orange shape. I guess the teacher liked the shapes because mine was one of the few she didn't have crit for.
Sounds like she found it pleasing, at the very least, satisfactory. It's always nice when the prof just smiles and nods, moving on to the next with complaints.
